To Sir, with Love is a 1967 British drama film that deals with social and racial issues in a secondary school in the East End of London. It stars Sidney Poitier and features Christian Roberts, Judy Geeson, Suzy Kendall, Patricia Routledge and singer Lulu making her film debut.The story follows Mark Thackeray, an immigrant from British Guiana who becomes a teacher at a troubled secondary school in London's East End. Initially met with disrespect from his unruly students, Thackeray gradually earns their respect by addressing their personal issues and teaching them about life, ultimately transforming their behavior and outlook.
