The Thirteenth Hour is a 1947 American mystery film noir directed by William Clemens, featuring Richard Dix as a trucking company owner who becomes embroiled in a murder investigation after a policeman is killed. The film is based on the radio series The Whistler and is notable for being the last of Dix's seven starring roles in the series. The film follows Steve Reynolds, a trucking company owner played by Richard Dix. He becomes embroiled in a conflict with a rival firm. After a masked assailant steals his truck and kills a policeman, evidence points to Steve as the murderer. With the help of his fiancée Eileen and her son, he must evade the police and clear his name while uncovering a diamond smuggling scheme.
