"The Day of the Owl" is a 1968 Italian film directed by Damiano Damiani. Based on a novel by Leonardo Sciascia, the film centers around the investigation of a murder in Sicily and examines the pervasive influence of the Mafia in everyday life.The story follows a police officer, Captain Bellodi, who investigates the murder of a businessman, Luco Santi. As he delves deeper, he uncovers the intricate ties between the local community and the Mafia, experiencing resistance and threats from various parties.
