The Pearl of Death
The famous Borgia Pearl, a valuable gem with a history of bringing murder and misfortune to its owner since the days of the Borgias, is brought to London, thanks in part to Sherlock Holmes. But before long the jewel is stolen, due to an error on Holmes' part, and shortly thereafter, a series of horrible murders begin, the murderer leaving his victims with their spines snapped and surrounded by a mass of smashed china.

The Pearl of Death is a 1944 film featuring Sherlock Holmes, portrayed by Basil Rathbone, and Dr. John Watson, played by Nigel Bruce.The story revolves around the theft of the infamous Borgia Pearl from a museum. Holmes, initially responsible for its security, inadvertently allows the master criminal Giles Conover to steal it. Following the theft, a series of brutal murders occur, each victim found surrounded by smashed china. Holmes must unravel the mystery and recover the pearl, which is hidden within a bust of Napoleon.
