The Valiant
A man condemned to execution tries to convince two women that he is not their son and brother, and that they must get on with their lives.
From the archive
I've been researching newly public domain films from 1929 and earlier, so I'm uploading the best possible copies that I can find. Lead actor Paul Muni received a Best Actor nod for this film, in addition to the picture being nominated for Best Writing. While it didn't win either award, this mystery drama examining a man on death row still makes for an intriguing watch.
Why this is free to watch
The Valiant (1929) is hosted by the Internet Archive as a public-domain or openly licensed work, which means its copyright has expired, lapsed, or was released by the rights holder. The uploader declared an explicit licence, linked in the source panel. Nitrate streams the file directly from the Archive and hosts no video itself.
