The Unholy Night
When a rash of murders depletes their number, a billionaire's employees are brought together at an Englishman's estate.
From the archive
I've been researching newly public domain films from 1929 and earlier, so I'm uploading the best possible copies that I can find. The Unholy Night is mostly remembered now for a small role played by Boris Karloff and for being directed by actor Lionel Barrymore. Still, it was moody and atmospheric enough that contemporary reviews were mostly positive. Version sourced from "PizzaFlix": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCF_auveQzQ
Why this is free to watch
The Unholy Night (1929) is hosted by the Internet Archive as a public-domain or openly licensed work, which means its copyright has expired, lapsed, or was released by the rights holder. The uploader declared an explicit licence, linked in the source panel. Nitrate streams the file directly from the Internet Archive and hosts no video itself.
