The Power of the Whistler is a 1945 film noir thriller film based on the radio drama The Whistler. Directed by Lew Landers, the production features Richard Dix. It is the third of Columbia Pictures' eight "Whistler" films produced in the 1940s, seven starring Dix. Plot: A man (Richard Dix, Cimarron) loses his memory after being hit by a car. Wandering the streets, he walks into a diner and meets Jean Lang (Janis Carter, Flying Leathernecks), a woman who reads people's fortunes and sees danger in his immediate future. As Jean tries to help the man figure out his identity, new information appears that shows he might not be the kind man he seems.
