Evil lurks in the gloomy house at Markham Manor where a deranged Sir Edward is the chained prisoner of his brother Julian. When Sir Edward escapes, he embarks on a monstrous killing spree, determined to seek revenge on all those whom he feels have double-crossed him.

The Oblong Box is a 1969 British gothic horror film directed by Gordon Hessler, starring Vincent Price, Christopher Lee and Alister Williamson.The film is about Sir Edward Markham, who is disfigured in an African voodoo ceremony and kept locked away by his brother, Julian. Tired of his captivity, Edward fakes his death but is instead buried alive; he is later resurrected by graverobbers and embarks on a vengeful killing spree while wearing a crimson hood to conceal his appearance.
