A documentary about the making of the film "They're a Weird Mob", a movie about an Italian adjusting to life in Australia.

From the archive

An Australian TV documentary about the making of the 1966 feature film 'They're a Weird Mob'. Note: the Australian film industry, which thrived during the 1920s and 1930s, pretty much ceased to exist with the outbreak of WWII (in sharp contrast to Britain and America). Fortunately, the film industry had a nice revival in the 1970s (again in sharp contrast to Britain). In Sydney this aired on Friday 12 August 1966 on TCN-9 at 8:30PM. It aired against Z Cars on ABN-2, the film A Guy Named Joe on ATN-7, and The Barry Crocker Show on TEN-10. It was preceded on TCN-9 by variety show Sound of Music (no relation to the film) and a short news update, and followed by the film A Prize of Gold. In Melbourne this aired on Monday 22 August 1966 on GTV-9 at 7:30PM. It aired against F Troop, This Week in Britain (a 5 minute show) and Australian Playhouse on ABV-2, Gomer Pyle USMC and The Saint on HSV-7, and The Go!! Show and film The Fear Makers on ATV-0 (yes, a channel 0, look it up if you don't believe me). It was preceded on GTV-9 by The Addams Family, and followed by Peyton Place. I don't know if this documentary aired in Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth. I am worried this upload will result in a copyright strike, as it features excerpts from various copyrighted films.
