The Hitch-Hiker
Roy and Gilbert's fishing trip takes a terrifying turn when the hitchhiker they pick up turns out to be a sociopath on the run from the law. He's killed before, and he lets the two know that as soon as they're no longer useful, he'll kill again. The two friends plot an escape, but the hitchhiker's peculiar physical affliction, an eye that never closes even when he sleeps, makes it impossible for them to tell when they can make a break for it.

The Hitch-Hiker is a 1953 American independent film noir thriller directed by Ida Lupino, who co-wrote it with her former husband Collier Young, and starring Edmond O'Brien, William Talman and Frank Lovejoy. Based on the 1950 killing spree of Billy Cook, It follows two friends, Roy Collins and Gilbert Bowen, who pick up a hitchhiker named Emmett Myers during a fishing trip to Mexico. Unbeknownst to them, Myers is a serial killer who takes them hostage, forcing them to drive through the desert while he terrorizes them, until they ultimately seek a chance to escape as law enforcement closes in on him.
