The Gun and the Pulpit is a 1974 American Western television film starring Marjoe Gortner and Slim Pickens, directed by Daniel Petrie.Te film is based on Jack Ehrlich's 1972 novel The Fastest Gun in the Pulpit, and follows a gunslinger named Ernie Parsons escapes execution and assumes the identity of a murdered minister to evade capture. As he settles in a town plagued by a corrupt boss, he uses his gunfighting skills to protect the townspeople and ultimately confronts the villain, leading to a showdown that frees the town from tyranny.
