The Great Chase
A rollicking compendium of the greatest hits of silent-cinema chase sequences
From the archive
The elaborate and fantastic gags that comprised the breathtaking, sidesplitting chase sequences in silent films -- using cars, trains, bicycles, horses and all manner of moving objects -- are shown off in this compilation documentary. Clips from several of the earliest shorts and features from 1903 through 1927 are used to chronicle the evolution of the chase, starring several of the era's greats, including Douglas Fairbanks, Lillian Gish and the greatest daredevil of them all, Buster Keaton.
