The Crooked Web CC Crime Film Noir
The Crooked Web is a 1955 crime film noir directed by Nathan Juran and starring Frank Lovejoy, Mari Blanchard and Richard Denning. A restaurant owner becomes trapped in a plot to return him to Germany for a murder he committed in W.W. II. Stan Fabian runs a drive-in restaurant with girlfriend Joanie Daniel, her brother Frank turns up for a visit and tempts Stan with a proposition, mentioning that he and a partner hid a stash of gold in Germany during the war. Stan who's always strapped for cash accepts. What Stan doesn't know is that Joanie and Frank are actually undercover cops trying to lure him to Germany to get a confession because the German police are unable to extradite him to charge him with the crime of killing a rich businessman's son who apparently was killed by Stan during a deal gone wrong.
