The Cameraman
A photographer takes up newsreel shooting to impress a secretary.
From the archive
I've been researching newly public domain films from 1929 and earlier, so I'm uploading the best possible copies that I can find. Buster Keaton's first film for MGM, The Cameraman is generally thought of as one of his best movies. It was the second to last picture he had full creative control over, before MGM took that from him. The film follows a poor street photographer who goes to extreme lengths to impress a woman he meets.
Why this is free to watch
The Cameraman (1928) is hosted by the Internet Archive as a public-domain or openly licensed work, which means its copyright has expired, lapsed, or was released by the rights holder. The uploader declared an explicit licence, linked in the source panel. Nitrate streams the file directly from the Internet Archive and hosts no video itself.
