Shadow of a Doubt is a 1943 American psychological thriller film noir directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and starring Teresa Wright and Joseph Cotten. The story follows a young woman named Charlotte "Charlie" Newton, who is excited by the arrival of her charming Uncle Charlie in their quiet California town. However, her admiration turns to suspicion as she discovers he may be the "Merry Widow Murderer," leading to a tense confrontation between them as she grapples with the dark secrets he hides.
