Hamish Macbeth Series
Scottish mystery comedy-drama series created by Daniel Boyle (no, not that one) and loosely based on the novels by M. C. Beaton, concerning the laid-back Constable Hamish Macbeth (Robert Carlyle), who along with his West Highland Terrier, Wee Jock, seeks to keep the peace among the eccentric residents of the not-so-sleepy Highland town of Lochdubh (Lock-doo if you're English). These include "TV John" McIver (Ralph Riach), Hamish's clairvoyant friend and colleague, Isobel Sutherland (Shirley Henderson), a local reporter, and Alex Maclean (Valerie Gogan), an aristocratic writer, with Hamish's mutual attraction to both ladies being an ongoing source of tension.
