First part of a film about entrepreneurship and companies in the picturesq Dutch Gelderse Valley in the province of Gelderland, almost a century ago. Among other this film shows the Ritmeester cigar factories in Veenendaal, the Phoenix brewery in Amersfoort, the Monument to the Belgian WW-I refugees in Amersfoort, the Klein-Heidelberg tavern, the horticultural enterprise Klein-Westland, a goose breeding farm, wool dyeing, and the work of a beekeeper.
