H.M.S. Defiant
Defiant's crew is part of a fleet-wide movement to present a petition of grievances to the Admiralty. Violence must be no part of it. The continual sadism of Defiant's first officer makes this difficult, and when the captain is disabled, the chance for violence increases.

"Damn the Defiant!" is a 1962 British naval war film set during the Napoleonic Wars, focusing on Captain Crawford, who faces a mutiny aboard the HMS Defiant led by his sadistic first officer, Lieutenant Scott-Padget. As tensions rise, the crew grapples with harsh conditions and their loyalty to Crawford, ultimately leading to a dramatic confrontation with the French fleet and a struggle for survival. The film stars, Alec Guinness, Dirk Bogarde, Anthony Quayle, Maurice Denham, and Nigel Stock.
