Battleship Potemkin
A dramatized account of a great Russian naval mutiny and a resultant public demonstration, showing support, which brought on a police massacre.
From the archive
I've been researching newly public domain films from 1929 and earlier, so I'm uploading the best possible copies that I can find. Battleship Potemkin is a Soviet epic that is frequently spoken of as one of the greatest films ever created. Certainly as one of the best silent films. It follows the crew of the Russian battleship Potemkin as they begin to revolt.
