Asain Now was a weekly 30 minute newscast that was jointly produced with KCTS in Seattle, Hawaii Public Teleivison in Honolulu, and NHK in Tokyo, airing on PBS from 1990 to 1996 that featured a multi-anchor format in multiple cities similar to ABC's World News Tonight from 1978 to 1983. In this edition, with Jean Enersen anchoring from Seattle and Maya Moore from Tokyo, features include a news roundup, potential oil desposits near the Spratly Islands, the renewed popularity of the piano on one Chinese island, the glut of bus companies with less than useful service in Kuala Lumpur, a supermarket boom in China, India's lottery industry, and why Indonesians enjoy fun bike rallies.
