An American Family is a 1973 documentary television series created for PBS by Craig Gilbert. Widely cited as the earliest example of reality TV in America, the series profiled the Louds, an upper-middle-class family in Santa Barbara, California. Included here is the full 1973 series along with the 1983 special An American Family Revisited: The Louds 10 Years Later and the 2003 special Lance Loud!: A Death in an American Family.
