Across to Singapore
While Joel and his older ship's captain brother Mark are at sea, the latter is abandoned in Singapore by devious ship's mate Finch who, upon their return, convinces the townspeople that Joel abandoned his brother. Joel, determined to not only find Mark but to see justice done, returns the ship to Singapore.
From the archive
I've been researching newly public domain films from 1929 and earlier, so I'm uploading the best possible copies that I can find. Joan Crawford and Ramon Novarro star in this love triangle romance between Crawford's character and two feuding brothers. Reviews and box office don't seem to have been worth mentioning, though with Novarro's star power it would have to be assumed that it made at least a little money. Modern reviews appreciate the acting, but the overall story feels weak.
