The Terror of Rome Against the Son of Hercules
In this sword and sandal fantasy, a gladiator named Poseidon must battle a quartet of combatants in ancient Rome. If he wins, the son of Hercules will have his life and anything else he wants. Sure enough, he wins and asks that the life of a Christian girl be spared. But the girl refuses her liberty until all of her fellow believers are also released.

"Terror of Rome Against the Son of Hercules" is a 1964 Italian/French coproduction also known as "Maciste, gladiatore di Sparta" in Italy. It was one of 14 Peplum (or sword and sandal) films dubbed into English and released in America as part of the syndicated television series, "The Sons of Hercules" by Embassy pictures. It stars American body builder, Mark Forest, who played Maciste several times. For some reason, he's called Poseidon in the American version. It was written by Alfonso Brescia, Albert Valentin, and Mario Amendola and was directed by Mario Caiano.
