Miss Cartwright is hired to be the new governess to young Pamela, and immediately dismisses Pamela's beloved nanny, Mrs. Murphy, and then finds a "punishment room" for the child in the basement. Pamela's favorite toy is a stuffed tiger, which becomes the focus of Pamela's revenge against the dictatorial governess. Strange and ominous things begin to happen that can only be explained as psychic phenomena.
