The Rootie Tootie Thanksgiving Party
“The Rootie Tootie Thanksgiving Party,” a stellar three-hour show to be presented by WNBT, beginning at noon. “Rootie Tootie,” the new puppet pet of the younger set, will act as host, with Todd Russell and Ed Herlihy sharing emcee honors. Participating in the show will be Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt (on film), Tex and Jinx McCrary, Ted Mack, Skitch Henderson, Kukla, Fran and Ollie (from Chicago), Kathi Norris, Lisa Kirk, Johnny Andrews and Francey Lane, Jon Gnagy, vocalists Lee Sullivan and Eddie Fisher, Rosalie Allen, “Texas Jim” Robertson, “Cricket” Skilling, “Children's Hour” performers and others. Mrs. Roosevelt will read a message to the youth of America written by the late Franklin D. Roosevelt. Rounding out the show, an array of animal acts, led by Smokey, the wonder horse, and a galaxy of clowns, will perform for the youngsters.Especially selected cartoon features will be integrated into the format along with audience participation games and contests.
