Officer Survival High Risk Patrol Tactics
Another one in a series of police training films (16mm) that were made by Motorola, MTI and others. Most of this series was shot in California and used the local police department staff as actors. I discovered these films in a police station that was being renovated. I transferred each print, one every night, returned the next day, until I had amassed all 15 prints. Some of this is of value historically, since it represents another era, one in which the law and order of the fifties was giving way to the much more permissive sixties. See "Burglary In Progress", Defensive Driving" and "Vehicle Stop Tactics" and "Officer Survival: High Risk Patrol Tactics" for more information about this collection and how it was obtained. This entry demonstrates the correct way to disarm a subject, er, suspect. Interesting for the references to the Miranda decision, from which some police were still stinging.
