''Four Star Playhouse''

An episode of the popular 1950s anthology series. This episode stars Ida Lupino. She plays a woman confined to her bed. Also starring Scott Forbes and Fay Baker. Ida Lupino wrote the story for this episode, with screenplay by Robert Eggenweiler (what a name!). Directed by Roy Kellino. Sorry, closing credits are missing from this copy. AKA "The Case of Emily Cameron", which is the title used on IMDb. This aired on 29 March 1956 on CBS at 9:30PM, aired against "Ford Television Theatre" on NBC, "Down You Go" on ABC, and possibly wrestling on the near-death DuMont Network (WABD schedule shows wrestling, not sure if this was local or network) Of course, there were repeats. For example, in Philadelphia it saw a repeat on 11 June 1957 at 3:00PM on WCAU-TV, aired against "Afternoon Film Festival" on WPFH (consisting of the 1950 film "Bitter Springs"), "Bandstand" on WFIL-TV, and "NBC Matinee Theater" on WRCV-TV. This was part of a series called "Presenting Ida Lupino", which I assume was simply a syndication title for her episodes of "Four Star Playhouse" Another repeat, also in Philadelphia, aired on WRCV-TV on 25 September 1963 as part of "Star Performance" at 1:00AM. The things it aired against were pre-existing content (1939 film "In Name Only" on WCAU, and a thing called "Hollywood's Best" on WFIL-TV). It was shown in Australia in 1958 at different dates in Sydney and Melbourne. In Sydney it aired on TCN-9 at 9:00PM on 21 June 1958, aired against the film "It's a Wonderful Life" on ABN-2 (who aired it without commercials, since they are part of public broadcaster ABC), and "Harbor Command" on ATN-7. In Sydney it was repeated on 7 January 1959 on TCN-9 at 3:30PM as part of "Wednesday Matinee", aired against nothing on ABN-2, and according to Sydney Morning Herald's TV schedule listings, it also aired against nothing on ATN-7. In Sydney it was repeated again on 20 October 1959 on TCN-9 at 2:30PM, aired against an educational program for schools on ABN-2 ("Climates, Hot and Cold"), and local production "Let's Cook with Joan Carpenter" on ATN-7. This was repeated as part of "Star Performance".
