''Four Star Playhouse''
An unusual episode of the popular half-hour anthology series. Starring Charles Boyer, Beverly Washburn and Fay Baker. In this episode, a psychiatrist finds out that a man he sent to the mental hospital has escaped. Directed by Robert Florey. Originally telecast 30 September 1954. This episodes aired at 9:30PM on CBS, aired against "Ford Television Theatre" on NBC, "Kraft Television Theatre" on ABC, and who knows what on DuMont's stations. Useless trivia: a search of old newspapers turns up some interesting things: In New York City on 1 October 1956 at 10:00PM, this was repeated as part of "Charles Boyer Stars" on WPIX. Meanwhile, Philadelphia saw a repeat on 19 September 1957 at 3:00PM on Channel 10, as part of a "Presenting Charles Boyer". Meanwhile, it was also repeated under the titles "Golden Playhouse" and "Star Performance". This episode, however, retained the "Four Star Playhouse" title when shown at different dates in Sydney and Melbourne Australia during 1958 (18 March in Sydney, 15 April in Melbourne). This is unusual, as American anthologies were usually re-titled when shown in 1950s Australia.
