Can We Make a Better Doctor
In this first part of a 10-year series chronicling the progress of six students as they advance from Harvard Medical School training to professional practice, NOVA documents a new and unique experiment in doctor training which takes young students out of the classroom during their first two years and places them face-to-face with patients in a clinical setting. The program details how this radical new approach will enable students to develop a habit of self-directed learning, wherein they review actual cases and decide for themselves what they need to know before they can treat a particular illness. 1 videocassette (60 min.) : 1/2 in. + Funding provided by the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, et al Executive producer, Paula S.
