Bower Bird Blues
In the rainforest of Australia's Lamington National Park, there are a number of unusual residents who have a hard time coping with their neighbors. But the one having the toughest time is the bower bird. The bower bird gets his name from the elaborate bower of sticks, feathers, leaves, and berry juice that he builds to attract and conquer the opposite sex. It's not a nest. It's more like a bower bird tunnel of love. And it's absolutely essential that he gets it just right because he has competition from a rival bower bird just across the way. Meanwhile, the locals are trampling through his work - echidnas, snakes, scrub turkeys, other bower birds, and even soldier beetles make a mess of his masterpiece. But then, just when all looks hopeless, the tables turn, and the future begins to look a whole lot brighter for the little architect
