ALL MY CHILDREN 1990 #2 Aug 15 thru Dec 31 (16.9 GB) SYNOPSIS: 1990 Jan 01 - Dec 31 Erica accepted Jackson Montgomery's proposal of marriage, but told him that it was too soon to set a wedding date because of Bianca. She wanted to marry Jack, but Bianca really wanted her mommy and daddy together. When Bianca contracted Reyes Syndrome, the ordeal brought Erica and Travis together again. Not wanting to hurt Bianca, Erica came up with a plan. "I'll date you both on alternate nights," she proposed to the Montgomery brothers. Marked by jealousy, back-biting and backstabbing, the three-way arrangement proved an utter failure. Frustrated, Jack gave Erica an ultimatum - me or him. After a month of pondering, Erica broke the news to Jack that she couldn't marry him. She married Travis for a second time. Blond and beautiful Ceara Connor came to town in search of a prestigious job and a man with plenty of money. She found both in Pine Valley. Ceara met David Rampal and the fact that David was a younger man didn't faze Ceara. David was rich and that made Ceara's mouth water. Seeing her as a gold digger, David's father, Jeremy Hunter, schemed to break them up by seducing Ceara and making her fall in love with him. Opal Gardner Purdy declared to anyone who would listen that she intended to marry rich Palmer Cortlandt. But Palmer wanted no part of Opal. Soon, Opal dated and became engaged to Palmer's old prison pal, Stan "Mr. U" Ulatowski, but it was Palmer she pined for. Palmer's gloomy mood vanished when his ex-wife, Daisy popped back into Pine Valley. Putting off Palmer's advances, Daisy couldn't help but notice the chemistry between her ex-hubby and his southern-fried friend, Opal. Ever the matchmaker, Daisy set out to transform tacky Opal into a sophisticated woman fit for an urbane gentleman like Palmer. In November, Opal became the latest in a long, long line of "Mrs. Palmer Cortlandts." Another exasperating romance was taking place between the newly rich Natalie Hunter and gruff cop, Trevor Dillon. Despite their apparent abhorrence for each other, something always seemed to bring Natalie and Trevor together. And he did everything in his power to hang around her -- even comandeering a boat with Natalie aboard and getting them both shipwrecked on a deserted island where they battled the elements, and each other. While Natalie and Trevor's game of cat and mouse continued back in Pine Valley, Adam Chandler proved a formidable contender for Nat's affections. He convinced Natalie to marry him. Trevor raced to stop the wedding, arriving seconds too late to stop Natalie from making the mistake of her life. Donna Tyler remedied one of the greatest mistakes in her life when she reunited with her first love, Dr. Chuck Tyler, who returned for a visit and stayed on in Pine Valley . Donna's life was far from a bed of roses due to the reappearance of that contemptible lowlife, Billy Clyde Tuggle. He slithered back into Pine Valley and befriended his daughter, Emily Ann, who years earlier had been adopted by Donna and her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Benny. Emily Ann's world came crashing down when she learned the horrifying tale of her parentage. Reeling from the sordid tale of her tainted heritage, Emily Ann ran off and married her boyfriend, kindly Joey Martin. The marriage got off to a less than perfect start when Emily Ann, racked by nightmares, spurned Joey's romantic advances. Well, most of them. Less than two months after her ill-fated marriage, the troubled Emily Ann wanted out. Joey signed annulment papers, which were promptly torn up when Emily Ann discovered she was pregnant! She lost the child, but this ill-fated marriage continued. Dixie Martin soon became the object of Billy Clyde's affections. In 1990, Tad and Dixie got off to a stormy start when Tad expressed his desire to move out of Pine Valley to start a new life away from Tad's least favorite person, Dixie's demanding Uncle Palmer. Dixie refused to go, and the fact that Tad was working closely with Brooke English did not help keep the marriage intact. Palmer succeeded in breaking up Tad and Dixie. When Tad received divorced papers, he soothed his pain by sleeping with Brooke. Dixie's new "friend," Billy Clyde, offered a sympathetic ear to her sorrows. Billy rented an isolated cabin and after chloroforming Dixie, he dragged her away. Tad frantically probed to find her, and he did -- just in the nick of time! Just as Billy was about to rape Dixie, the authorities, led by Trevor Dillon and Officer Derek Frye, arrived on the scene. After a tense standoff, Billy Clyde burst out of the cabin, spraying bullets everywhere. Seriously wounded, Derek was whisked back to Pine Valley Hospital. As Billy Clyde escaped, Tad rushed into the cabin to get Dixie, and she collapsed into his arms. Billy Clyde's reign of terror came to an end two months later when he encountered Tad on a bridge for a final showdown. As they struggled, a bomb exploded, sending both men plummeting into the icy, raging waters below. Billy Clyde's lifeless body was recovered. Tad was presumed dead. Unbeknownst to his loved ones, a disoriented Tad, having lost his memory, had accepted a ride from a truck driver and was on his way to California. Dixie grieved, and so did Brooke, especially after discovering she was pregnant with Tad's child! Tom and Barbara's happy homelife was torn apart by the discovery that their daughter Molly suffered from leukemia. To stay alive, she required a bone marrow transplant. Desperately needing to find a match, Barbara was forced to tell a stunned, but compassionate Travis that Molly was his daughter. Barbara and Travis concocted a wild plan to conceive a second child of their own in order to provide a bone marrow donor for Molly. In a hotel room, Barbara and Travis secretly made love. When Tom found out, he asked his wife for a divorce. Erica, too, announced to Travis that their marriage was over. For Bianca's sake, they stayed together in name only, and waited for just the right moment to break the news to their daughter that mommy and daddy were getting a divorce. After some soul-searching, Erica told Jack that she loved him and wanted him. They began an affair.
