Reels A-E of original camera footage edited for broadcast on KNTV Channel 11 San Jose for September 2, 1968. Some segments may be silent. No broadcast script exists for this date. Reel 1:Part 1 (silent): Shots of people picnicking in a park on Labor Day; people at picnic tables, barbeques, hamburgers, geese in pond. Part 2 (silent): In country setting, Robert Morgan unveils the head of the Morgan Horse statue that he commissioned from artist Alexandrovich Stanislav Schnittmann as a small crowd of onlookers claps. A woman in sunglasses feels her way around the bust. The same woman is then seen in riding gear brushing a Morgan horse in paddocks. Part 3 (sound): Dick Reisner reports on Labor Day activities around the area, as essential workers still have to be on call, others are celebrating with picnics at local parks. A youngster in the background tries to catch the attention of the camera. San Francisco claims to be the first city to observe Labor Day, challenging New York City's claim. Reel 2:Part 1 (silent): A young person in a fast food style paper cap leans into automobiles stopped along a busy road. Part 2 (silent): Hyde Park Motel neon sign lit up at night. Fire personnel examine the damage to an automobile in a garage and one of the motel rooms. Part 3 (sound): Press conference by delegation from the Olympic Games selection committee on a fact-finding trip to California. Says they went to visit Los Angeles last weekend and they're here in San Francisco this weekend, and it's safe to say that there's a good chance there will be a California city as the bid city for the U.S. for the 1976 Olympic Games. He goes on to espouse the benefits of San Francisco and the Bay Area, but says they are not the decision makers, simply the fact gatherers. Reel 3:Part 1 (sound): Live action from Kezar Stadium in San Francisco as the San Francisco 49ers play the Oakland Raiders on September 1st. Lots of noise from the crowds; scoreboards; sidelines; action on the field; Raiders fan banner in the crowd reads "AFL Champs -- World Champs." Part 2 (sound): Robert Morgan interviewed at Red Fox Stables in Gilroy about the Morgan Horse statue, plans to install it at Triton Museum in Santa Clara; Morgan Horse Man & Woman of the Year Award.
